Fortunately, last Friday it was time again for a new edition of our renowned LAN party! We were all really looking forward to it and worked hard on the preparations to make it another unforgettable evening. And we definitely succeeded! We gamed, laughed, ate, and enjoyed ourselves into the late (or rather: early) hours. Who took home the trophies this time?

Once again, this edition featured three competitions in which participants battled to win the coveted trophies. The first competition was a shooter tournament where we played Counter Strike. It was an intense battle, but in the end, Kevin managed to claim the title and win the trophy. He had a great strategy and was simply unstoppable.

The second competition was a racing tournament where we played Mario Kart. This might have been the most hilarious competition of the evening. We all performed the most impossible maneuvers to overtake each other, but in the end, Marco turned out to be the best Mario Kart player. He used the power-ups in very clever ways and stayed ahead of the rest of the colleagues.

Lastly, there was a physically active ‘fun’ competition where we played Beat Saber. This was a completely different challenge than the other two competitions. We had to use our whole bodies to slice the blocks and achieve the highest score. Laurens turned out to be the undisputed winner in this. He had perfect timing and was unbeatable.

All that competition naturally makes you hungry and thirsty. That’s why we could enjoy the well-stocked fries stand and the necessary energy drinks to keep us going.

Even those who weren’t gaming had a tough night!
